Take care of your skin and body in summer: 7 tips to enjoy the sun
Summer is here, and with it come higher temperatures and longer sun exposure. While we enjoy sunny days and outdoor activities, it is crucial to remember to properly care for our skin and body. In this article, we offer you a list of tips (which we follow to the letter!) to protect and nourish your skin during the summer season.

Tips for summer skincare
1. Protect yourself from the sun with a good sunscreen! We do not want dark spots!
There is no doubt that the sun can be harmful to our skin, especially in summer (and especially with the global warming we are subjecting ourselves to). It is essential to apply a sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) suitable for your skin type. Choose an SPF of at least 30 and make sure to cover all exposed areas, including the neck, ears, and lips. Do not forget to reapply every two hours, especially if you are swimming or sweating.
2. Hydrate properly (Yes, this is not new, but… DRINK WATER!)
High temperatures and sun exposure can cause dehydration. To keep your skin and body hydrated, drink enough water throughout the day. You can also enjoy delicious seasonal fruits and vegetables, such as watermelon, cucumber, and melon, which are rich in water and essential nutrients. Hydrating from the inside is essential for maintaining radiant skin! (And that is what we want, right?)
3. Exfoliate your skin regularly (gently—do not overdo it!)
During summer, our skin tends to accumulate more dead cells and dirt, mainly due to sweat. Exfoliating your skin once or twice a week is an excellent way to remove these impurities and keep it smooth and radiant. Use a gentle exfoliant and make soft circular motions over your skin. Do not forget to moisturize afterwards to keep it nourished!
4. Increase your intake of antioxidants. Self-care starts from within.
Antioxidants are essential for protecting our skin from damage caused by free radicals. During summer, increase your intake of antioxidant-rich foods, such as brightly coloured fruits and vegetables (like you), nuts and seeds. These foods will help keep your skin healthy and protected against oxidative stress caused by the sun and other environmental factors.

5. Do not neglect your lips and eyes
We often forget to protect our lips and eyes from the sun, but they also need special care during summer. Use a lip balm with sun protection and sunglasses with a UV filter to protect your eyes from harmful rays. These small gestures make a difference and help prevent long-term damage.
6. Avoid sun exposure during peak hours
The sun is at its strongest between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. During these peak hours, it is best to avoid direct sun exposure as much as possible. Seek shade, wear wide-brimmed hats, and long-sleeved clothing (made of a natural fabric, so you do not overheat!) to protect your skin from intense sun rays. If you plan outdoor activities, choose early morning or late afternoon, when the sun is less harsh.
7. Take care of your diet for radiant skin (as mentioned, self-care starts from within).
A balanced, nutrient-rich diet is key to maintaining healthy, radiant skin in summer. Increase your intake of foods such as fish, nuts, olive oil, and avocado, which are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and healthy fats for the skin. In addition, include foods high in vitamin C, such as citrus fruits, strawberries, and kiwis, to promote collagen production and protect your skin from premature ageing.
Skin can enjoy summer too!
With these tips, you can protect your skin from the sun and keep it radiant throughout the summer season. Remember to use sunscreen, stay properly hydrated, exfoliate your skin, eat antioxidant-rich foods, and pay attention to your lips and eyes. Also, avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours and maintain a healthy diet.
