WHAT IS IT?
Labia minora reduction (Labioplasty)
Labioplasty or nymphoplasty is a surgical procedure that corrects alterations in the normal development of the labia minora. It is indicated for women who, for congenital reasons or due to subsequent issues, have hypertrophic, asymmetrical, or sagging labia minora.
Some women request labioplasty because they experience discomfort from the friction of certain tight-fitting garments or underwear. Other patients consult because they feel self-conscious about the noticeable protrusion through thin fabrics such as swimwear, or experience pain during sexual intercourse.
It is an outpatient surgery, with no hospital stay required, lasting 1 to 2 hours, performed under local anesthesia and sedation. The results of labioplasty are permanent and do not cause noticeable scarring.
