Nose surgery or rhinoplasty is requested by our patients to correct aesthetic defects such as a dorsal hump (an excessively prominent bone) or its size and shape, as well as functional issues such as a deviated nasal septum, which can make breathing difficult.
Rhinoplasty is a procedure that our surgeons usually perform under general anaesthesia, although in certain patients only local anaesthesia and sedation may be used. During the first few days after the procedure, the patient will wear a splint and/or nasal bandage, and rest is recommended. Depending on the surgeon’s instructions, the splint and nasal bandage will be kept in place for 1 to 3 weeks.
Non-surgical rhinoplasty using dermal filler implants is an alternative to cosmetic surgery that can achieve effects similar to rhinoplasty without the drawbacks of having to undergo surgery; however, its results are not permanent and each case must be assessed to evaluate the patient’s suitability.
It corrects aesthetic defects as well as functional issues such as a deviated septum.
In some cases, rhinoplasty with hyaluronic acid may be considered, although it is not permanent.
Yes, a splint or nasal bandage is used during the first few days.
General anaesthesia is usually used, although in some cases local anaesthesia with sedation is used.
